A Tradition of Quality

The centuries old tradition of animal husbandry, rooted in Europe, is a mutually dependant and beneficial relationship between humans and cows.  The quality of these fine relationships is based on longevity.  Franz and Angela, the Noris farmers honor this tradition of their alpine homeland.

Hormone Free with Humane Care

Noris dairy cows are never given hormones or antibiotics. Our cows are allowed to graze year round.  Noris Dairy cultivates a bio diverse pasture which includes flowers, herbs and a hundred other kinds of plants – a cows’ smorgasbord! Cows, ruminants with four stomachs, perfectly digest and utilize grass.  We reject the standard industry diet of rich, hard to digest grains (resulting in high milk production) because it stresses the cows’ bodies and drastically shortens their lives.

The most notable of Noris Dairy farm practices is our dedication to each and every cow. If a cow is sick, we support her, giving her whatever she needs to heal herself. If a cow is born with a defect or is not the greatest producer, we keep her anyway. This is unheard of in the "industry" where animals are expendable, replaceable machines. Noris cows have a great health measured in their extreme curiosity towards visitors and their "running" fitness.

By practicing sustainable farming in harmony with nature, we like to do our part to provide a better environment for the home of all of us “THE EARTH”.  No pesticides, herbicides or chemical fertilizer is applied to the land.

Fresh to Your Door

Noris Dairy, located between Salem and Eugene, pasteurize and bottle on the farm and deliver directly to your home, guaranteed less than two days old, for maximum freshness for your family.  The farm offers cream, 1/2 and 1/2, whole milk with cream on top, 2%, nonfat, and chocolate milk all in returnable glass bottles.  We also make very fine cheeses, butter, yogurt, sour cream and ice cream in our facility, each made from Noris fresh, whole organic milk.
